Aviator Certifications
aviator_certificationIf you want to become a highly professional and certified pilot, you should go through many hours of training. Then you should get a Private Pilot Certificate or Private Pilot License (PPC). If your goal is a professional career, get either Instrument Rating (IR), or Multi-Engine Rating (MEP) approval. The final step in a pilot’s progression is Commercial Pilot License.

Private Pilot Certification holders are allowed to act as the pilots of an aircraft privately, for free.

Eligibility:
- Be able to read, speak and understand English language. (Exception – if the candidate is unable to meet one of these requirements due to medical reasons)
- Be of eligible age
- Pass the required aeronautical knowledge test
- Go through flight training (usually 60-70 hours, sometimes minimum-17) and get a logbook approval from an authorized instructor
- Meet the necessary experience requirements before applying for the practical test
- Pass the practical test

PPCs are issued for different types of aircrafts according to the FAA (American Certification) or JAA (European License) regulations. There are different requirements in these organizations. A license contains a number of sub-qualifications. It is specified in many details such as type of the aircraft that can be flown, whether it is allowed to fly a t night and so on.

In order to fly under Instrument Flight Rules, a pilot must have an Instrumental Rating qualification. This qualification requires additional training and instruction, which consist of instruction in meteorology, learning rules and procedures specific to instrument flying and more hours of sole flights training. Then the applicant has to pass a written exam and the check ride (includes two components: oral, to check either the candidate understand the theory, and an actual flight). The main benefit that IR offers for pilots is the ability to fly in instrument meteorological conditions (such as clouds).

A Commercial Pilot Certificate allows its holders to act the pilot of an aircraft for hire.

Eligibility:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have at least PPC
- Meet the aeronautical experience requirements of this section that apply to the aircraft category and class rating sought
- Pass the knowledge and practical test.

The basic requirements to obtain any of the Certificates beyond and the privileges they confer are set by International Civil Aviation Organization.
