Physical Security Professional
physical_security_professionalsAmerican Society for Industrial Security offers certification for individuals involved in the physical security of organizations – Physical Security Professional (PSP). The purpose of this certification is to ensure employers that a person has a high level of knowledge pertaining to physical security.

Certification is an indicator of qualification, expertise and experience. Recent historic events lead to fundamental changes in the security landscape. That result in an increasing demand for heightened security to protect people, assets, facilities and data on a global scale.  
 
Types of certifications:
1. Physical Security Professional (PSP). This certification is granted for those, whose responsibility is to manage threat surveys, develop integrated security systems that consists of people and equipment, or install and run that systems.
2. Professional Certified Investigator (PCI). PCI designates professionals who showed education and/or experience in the field of evidence collection, case management and presentation.
3. Certified Protection Professional (CPP). It is granted for people who have shown competency in all areas that refers to security management.  

Certification eligibility:
1. PSP
- 5 years of experience in physical security field
- A high school diploma or General Education Diploma
- The candidate must not have been convicted of any criminal offence
2. PCI
- 5 years of investigations experience, at least 3 years in case management
- A high school diploma or General Education Diploma
- The candidate must not have been convicted of any criminal offence
3. CPP
- 9 years of security experience, at least 3 of those years in responsible charge of a security function
Or
- 7 years of security experience, at least 3 of those years in responsible charge of a security function and a Bachelor’s degree or higher from the accredited higher education institution. 

Besides, all candidates are required to pass exams to achieve any certification.
